Fair Use Policy - Bandwidth Limits
Most WaleHost services offer unlimited network bandwidth. However, we maintain a fair use policy to ensure optimal performance and experience for all users. This policy helps us maintain service quality while preventing abuse.
What is Fair Use?
Fair use means that while we offer unlimited bandwidth, we expect usage to remain within reasonable limits for typical hosting purposes. Excessive usage that impacts server performance or other users may require review.
Bandwidth Guidelines
Inbound Bandwidth
Inbound bandwidth (data received by your server from the internet) is unlimited (unmetered).
Outbound Bandwidth
Outbound bandwidth (data sent from your server to the internet) depends on your plan, with higher-tier plans offering greater allowances. Virtual Private Servers (VPS) can reach 60TB to 150TB per month based on the selected plan, while dedicated servers can reach 300TB to 400TB per month based on the selected plan.
Internal Network Traffic
Traffic between WaleHost data centers and services is free and unmetered.
Abuse Prevention
While internal traffic is unmetered, we actively monitor for unusual patterns or abuse. Suspicious activity may result in investigation and potential action to protect our infrastructure.
What Happens if I Exceed Fair Use?
Our team will review your usage patterns and may contact you to discuss your needs. We will work with you to find appropriate solutions, which may include upgrading to a higher-tier plan, implementing caching or CDN solutions, or optimizing your application or content delivery.
Proactive Communication
If you anticipate high bandwidth usage, contact our support team in advance. We can help you choose the right plan and optimize your setup.
